Canon digital SLR Camera Canon digital SLR cameras always earn high marks from across the boardroom. Canon is surely a brand guaranteeing users with A-rated models, from the widely popular SD series point-and-shoots to the Rebel dSLRs. Consumers all over are consistently impressed by Canon cameras’ solid construction, ease of use and high picture quality. Take the Canon EOS 7D camera, first launched in September 2009.

The EOS 7D is a high-end digital SLR camera that many Canon fans have been waiting for. With its 18-megapixel APS-C sensor, the camera can gather plenty of light. It is also incorporated with DIGIC4 Image Processors making the Canon 7D designed for speed. Canon claims that the 7D is in the same class as the 5D Mark II. The Canon EOS 7D is full of features which seem like the fulfillment of a photography enthusiast’s checklist.

Competition for the 7D is quite strong. Falling somewhere between the 5D Mark and the 50D, the Canon 7D will be familiar to either type of user. With a big, comfortable grip with an indentation for the middle finger, the 7D is easy to use. And unlike the 5D Mark II, the 7D has a built in pop-up flash. It has a wider lens-range that can handle up to 15 mm wide-angle lenses.

Among the other features include a RAW button and a new multi-function button for quick, programmable access to various functions. The 8 frames per second continuous shooting is proof to the 7D’s fast speed. The Full High-Definition video recording is a big plus to Canon EOS 7D. And don’t forget the new 19-point autofocus system, complete with a new LCD viewfinder display overlay. With a retail body-only value of around US$1,699 and a lens kit that sells for around $1,899, the Canon EOS 7D is surely a good buy.
